Overview

The East Meets West (EMW) Dental Program was founded in 1996 in Da Nang, Vietnam by Dr. Charles F. Craft, an American dentist from Alaska. Dr. Craft’s goal was to provide humanitarian dental care to disadvantaged children (orphans, from poor families, and with mental and physical disabilities) who have no other access to dental treatment.

Since that time, the EMW Dental Program has treated more than 140,000 children, delivering over 420,000 high-quality dental services with an estimated humanitarian value of US $22 million. More than 80% of children treated by EMW have never seen a dentist before.

In 2012, the new East Meets West Dental Center opened its doors. This “business arm” of the Dental Program provides high-quality dental care on a fee-for-service basis to local and international clients. 100% of the revenue generated by the Dental Center’s commercial dental practice goes directly to funding the EMW Dental Program. The EMW Dental Center is the only dental practice in Southeast Asia operating this type of “social enterprise” business model.

At the East Meets West Dental Center, we provide the highest level of care and adhere to all Western dentistry standards. Our highly trained, professional staff uses the most advanced clinical equipment and follows strict infection control policies. Dental Center staff are fluent in English. By choosing the East Meets West Dental Center the next time you need a check-up or dental treatment, you will also be helping us bring healthy smiles to even more disadvantaged children in Vietnam.

Reviews

I had some crowns done in Thailand a couple of years ago and they failed , i came to EMW and they did such amazing work , their standard is “perfection” i was so impressed with the work i had done earlier this year that i have come back to get an implant now. I have greater faith in their work than any dentist i have used in Australia and Canada . I first chose EMW because of the charity work the organization does , now i come because of the outstanding quality of workmanship and service . I recommend them to anyone needing dental work . Thank you to all the staff there , i always feel like a VIP in your hands. You are the best .

After several crowns and fillings performed on both myself and my partner we have nothing but praise for the professionalism exhibited by the dentists who worked on us. They are so highly trained that they were completely unprepared to compromise. Only a thorough result was acceptable. All the staff were friendly and observed full sterilisation of all equipment used during the procedures. We had 3 visits in total and have no doubt we will be visiting again in the future. Adding to this testimonial is the knowledge that our fees will assist the further work these remarkable people perform on underprivileged children in this country.

I’ve known EMW Dental for 10 years…the staff is top notch, the care is excellent and the hygiene superb. If you’re looking for excellent work at a very reasonable price don’t look farther. Nurse Hien cleaned my teeth so well……….
