Phu Quoc Travel Guide
Vietnam's largest island — soft-sand beaches in the Gulf of Thailand, one of the world's longest sea cable cars, a buzzing night market, and a green national park.
Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest island, set in the Gulf of Thailand off the coast of Kien Giang province. It pairs long palm-fringed beaches with a forested national park, a record-breaking cable car, and a busy night market — and with its own airport, it’s an easy fly-in escape. Many visitors base here for the beaches and pair the trip with dental care on the mainland.

Where to stay
Long Beach is the classic base — resorts, restaurants, and sunsets along the west coast near Duong Dong town. The north (around Grand World and the Corona/VinWonders area) suits families and big-resort stays, while the south near An Thoi is handy for Sao Beach and the cable car.
Best time to visit
Phu Quoc is driest and sunniest November–April, the peak season for calm seas and clear skies. May–October is the wet monsoon, with rain and rougher water. See the best time to visit Vietnam guide.
Getting there & around
Fly directly into Phu Quoc International (PQC) from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and several international hubs. On the island, Grab is limited, so most visitors use taxis or rent a scooter. Check visa requirements before you go.
Combine your trip with dental care
Phu Quoc is a pure-leisure island, so it’s an ideal place to recover after treatment — base here for the beaches and fly in from a dental hub like Ho Chi Minh City, where modern clinics offer savings of around 50–70% (indicative) below Western prices.
